Qualifications
PSI is a multi-faceted organization with a long history
of successful service to the manufacturing and packaging
segments of industry. Our customer list indicates the depth
of involvement in major material handling systems over the
past two decades.
We are
privileged to have several members on staff with strong
experience in the field of conveyor technology and controls
integration, averaging over 20 years per person. This background
includes first-hand experiences with the design, project
management and installation of turnkey systems for
Warehouses and distribution centers
Packaging lines
Production lines
Overhead systems
Palletizer systems
Hazardous waste handling systems
This
combined experience base assures
Dependable, workable systems
Cost-efficient systems
On-time installation
Reliable post-installation services
Project
Management
From the proposal phase through job completion, a project
manager oversees all aspects of the system. He communicates
the schedules and details of the system to the engineering,
electrical and installation groups, updating them as necessary.
He coordinates the engineering, equipment design, equipment
purchase and fabrication as defined in the contract. He
directs the in-house equipment set-up and testing procedures
when required. The project manager maintains communication
with the customer through project start-up.
When
the project size or complexity warrants, a full time project
manager as well as a project engineer supervise the overall
progress of the project. Company departmental managers steer
the effort to assure that the project scope, function and
schedule established during the proposal phase are upheld.
Electrical
Controls
PSI works very closely with our Electrical Controls partner
organization, MB Controls Group. MB Controls is owned and
operated by two former PSI employees, Don Mangum and Bob
Brooks. MB Controls' offices are located within the PSI
facility, which provides a convenient working relationship
between the system design group at PSI and the electrical
controls design group at MB Controls.
The
electrical group takes a systems approach to design, fabrication
and implementation of a wide variety of interactive mechanical
control systems. This ranges from a single device to an
entire product line or complete production facility.
PSI
offers complete electrical system services, which include
systems concept, design and engineering. This is performed
on many different levels to insure that all electrical interfaces
(the user's power distribution system, existing control
systems and data communication links) are considered.
The
design phase incorporates complete computer drafting and
documentation packages prior to manufacture and implementation.
This allows adequate review of the design to enable any
necessary changes to be made before a project deviates from
its critical path.
Efforts
are extended beyond the design phase to complete manufacturing
capabilities. All control systems are fabricated in-house
and put through a rigorous testing procedure to insure proper
design and manufacture. In many cases machinery and equipment
are pre-wired to junction boxes and terminal strips to eliminate
costly installations and reduce the possibility of problems
on the job site.
Once
equipment arrives at the job site, we can provide qualified
electricians to complete the construction. All phases of
the construction are coordinated through the in-house electrical
staff. Construction electricians specialize in industrial
material handling systems and industrial site power distribution
systems.
Engineering Services
Mechanical Engineering Services are available for material
handling system conception, layout, equipment design, prototype
construction and complete system integration.
Electrical
Engineering Services are available for design and implementation
of all types of handling and process systems. Control networks,
U.L. listed panels, MCC panels and field wiring plans for
turnkey applications. Electrical controls include all types
of systems from simple relay shoe box programmable logic
controllers (PLCs) to the most complex sortation and process
systems.

Field Services
Mechanical Field Services include installation of systems
provided by PSI as well as other manufacturers. Field crews
install header and hanger steel, set machinery, set-up,
test and run-in equipment, do tear-out and reinstallation
of others equipment, provide operator training and offer
maintenance contracts.
