The
following customers and projects indicate the depth of PSI
experience in both conceptualizing and designing specialty
handling systems. These systems also included the electrical
control design and implementation, as well as the on-site
supervision and installation of equipment.
Abb Brown Boveri - Athens, Georgia
200 degrees centigrade insulated enclosure and handling equipment
for transformer cores to 500 pounds.
ABB Power & Transmission Division - Athens, Georgia
A high speed storage/retrieval mini-load system for accumulating
like products in 64 multi-unit lanes and then retrieving pairs
of matched units for introduction into the manufacturing process.
The system operates on four levels with a through-put of 240
picks and puts per hour in a 65 foot dual-sided aisle. Vehicle
design speed is 150 feet per minute with a unit load of 300
pounds.
All American Gourmet Company, The - Atlanta, Georgia
Various projects throughout the plant which involved modifications
to existing equipment, new conveyor lines, machinery and electrical
controls to improve through-put and increase efficiency plus
specially fabricated items in stainless steel.
Allied Fibers - Columbia, South Carolina
Drum handling system, chain driven live roller conveyor.
Allied Signal Corporation - Columbia, South Carolina
A multi-lane sortation system for accumulating like products
in eight lanes. System throughput is five units per minute
and is bar-code drive. The system operates 24 hours per day,
seven days per week. Controls are PC based for I/O and data
management with protocol for data transfer to a VAX.
Allied Signal Corporation - Columbia, South Carolina
This spun carpet yarn sortation and packaging system first
receives yarn on spools from each of 16 spinning positions.
After bar coding and grading, the yarn spool is placed on
carriers and introduced into the sortation system where it
is automatically weighed and accumulated. Yarn spools are
automatically released in predetermined lots to packaging,
and carriers are returned to spinning positions for reuse.
Arcata Graphics (Kingsport Press) New Canton, Tennessee
Book handling system with merges and transfers at 200 per
minute with all conveyors and controls.
