While
26 years of corporate life provides a diverse experience
of all sorts of projects, the following projects are of
particular interest when promoting the company's capabilities
in the arena of Hazardous and Nuclear Waste handling.
Consolidated Edison Power, Duke Power, Virginia Power
and various other power facilities at various sites in the
Eastern US
Chain Driven Live Roller and Heavy Duty Transfers in a radioactive
environment. The equipment was designed to handle the output
of the volume reduction process of reactor cooling water
wastes and the encapsulation of the reduced wastes in bituminous
solids.
Lockheed
Martin at the Oak Ridge Tennessee Site
Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyor System for the Gamma Ray
Analyzation of Sealed drums and their subsequent sortation.
Taiwan
Power Company
Heavy
Duty Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyor Systems for the nuclear
waste drum handling systems at both Chinshan and Kausheng
Nuclear Power Facilities on Taiwan ROC. Both projects were
the primary handling systems for the respective plants for
drummed waste from volume reduction processes that has been
encapsulated in Bituminous or Portland solids
General
Electric Locomotive Plant
Paint
waste disposal in drums for General Electric's Locomotive
Plant in Erie, Pennsalvania.
Multilevel drum washing machine was designed to remove paint
waste and various liquid organic materials from both tight
head and open top DOT 55-gallon drums at a throughput of
ten drums per hour. Drums are received at floor level and
transported to an airlock infeed by horizontal
conveyors,
transfers and a vertical lift. After the drum is dumped,
with non-pumpable material collecting in a junk trap, the
drum is washed and rinsed and returned to floor level by
reversing the load cycle.
Contractor
provided complete system, conceptualization of unique handling
equipment, the design and fabrication of the equipment and
the testing of the equipment in-house. Project was complete
with PLC controllers and on-line process control and monitoring
of the flow and state of all fill levels within the process
equipment.
